Kern’s CO2 laser development started in the mid 2000’s as a R&D project headed by Gerald Kern at the KLS facility. In 2012, the first production lasers were introduced to the market and placed on Kern’s large format laser systems. These laser sources included the 100, 150 and 200 watt models. Shortly after this milestone, Kern Technologies (KT) was formed and a new manufacturing facility was built directly across the road from the KLS headquarters. In 2018, the high-powered 250 and 400 watt lasers were added to Kern’s lineup.
Today, Kern Technologies works out of a 20,000 sq. ft. facility equipped with a state-of-the-art clean room production environment. KT’s main objective is to advance CO2 laser technology by manufacturing the highest quality and most dependable CO2 lasers on the market.
