Laser Engrave Bamboo Straws with Lotus Laser’s Meta-C

Customising Bamboo Straws is an application that requires a high-quality finish and speed.

With this video we demonstrate how fast Lotus Laser’s Meta-C with a 75w CO2 laser can mark bamboo straws.

The system can also mark text that can vary straw by straw with data extracted from a database or an external file.

The process speed is significantly improved by feeding the straws with a conveyor device.

In this example the throughput is 1285 straws per hour. For further enhanced throughput it is possible to mark 4 straws with each move of the conveyor, however, moving/marking 1 by 1 is more precise.

For this trial we loaded the conveyor by hand, which is an option, but for further enhanced operation we can provide for a hopper feed so that the operator need only attend the machine x1 per hour to reload the hopper.

The conveyor does not need to be stopped during the reloading process.
