LASER MARKING CYLINDRICAL TOOLS
By semi-automating the part handling process it is possible to significantly increase the throughput capabilities of Meta-C.
One such handling device is our 1.2m conveyor feed mechanism. The system that we built for this customer incorporated x63 v-groove fixtures made from nylon and mounted to the 1.2m conveyor.
The customers parts are cylindrical and of varying size. These V-groove fixtures will hold all their parts with variation in diameter.
The parts are loaded by human and a guide rail positions them in the Y axis. As the part enters the marking field an inductive sensor triggers a stop and mark command.
After the mark is finished the system electronics signal the device to move and repeat the process.
A multi pass technique creates depth to approximately 0.25mm and a clean-up pass brightens the mark.
