There are two main factors that are going to help you achieve a beautiful flame polished edge when laser cutting acrylic.

First is your choice of acrylic to use; if you only need to laser cut then extruded acrylic is the best choice as it’s much easier to achieve a flame polished edge, however if you plan on engraving the acrylic as well as cutting then you’ll need to use cast acrylic which goes white after marking.

Second thing will be the settings that you use – you’ll want to make sure to use a high-to-maximum laser power setting and slow enough speed that it provides for the smoothest cut and also make sure to max out your frequency/PPI setting as well.

Following these steps should give you a flame polished edge every time!
